Can I customise the data entry form for different monitoring activities?

When I use Project Categories to create a new monitoring type, is it possible for me to then create a customised data entry form that goes with the newly-created monitoring type?

I would also like to be able to adjust the photo-point form so that volunteers can simply take a photo when they’re in the area and not be confused by extra fields for monitoring periods and species detected - these aren’t really relevant to our planting sites! We only need a series of dated photos that can later be compiled into a time-lapse slideshow.

@christina.g as long as the terminology has been added into the project categories for the project, you will be able to enter both via the import sheet and phone app.
I have spoken to the team regarding the photo option, can you please add that into the features request?

Which tab of Project Categories do I need to use to create new questions for the data entry form?


In this case, I’ve added “nest box” under “monitoring type” and the bird species under “monitoring species”. The current data recording form will allow me to record presence/absence, but any details like whether eggs/chicks are present would have to go in the notes field because there isn’t a box on the form.
I can’t tell what “monitoring protocol” and “monitoring survey event” will do - is it one of these that controls the data entry form? (And if not, what do these project categories do?)

You could add the eggs, hatchlings etc under the survey events this will then give you a check box, then in protocol you could record numbers. Your monitoring record would look like this
