Problem related to 'app not saving records' issue?

Hi,
I had a call last night from a trapper in the Pauatahanui Wildlife Reserve (PWR) project. This project has about 40 traps spread over 4 lines. She is running the latest release on the app. She found yesterday that the app was not saving the records she entered.
By the time she called me she had tried deleting the app from her phone and reinstalling it. Logging in again, instead of getting the map of the project she was presented with a screen showing random traps from different lines. I hadn’t seen the item about the app not saving records and thought there was a possibility of data corruption in the app storage. I had her clear data and cache from the Android App settings then delete and reinstall again. She got to the main Menu after logging in again we found the ‘Lines’ item was missing from it. Selecting ‘My projects’ brought up the PWR project which she selected and instead of being presented with the project map she received the same screen showing random traps.
The initial problem she had seemed to be the trap records bug. Could the problem she is seeing now be related? Would performing the hard reset help in her case? If not, can you advise where we should go from here.
Thanks, and regards, John.

Hi Lenore,
I passed on the ‘fix’ to the trapper, that is to perform a ‘hard reset’ She got back to me this morning. Unfortunately, she had already performed a hard reset. Here is her feedback.

It is true, as I said, that I recognized there was a problem with an update when I was in the field on the 1 April. It is also true that the problem showed up when I entered the data at the first box (TP1). The data did not save, although the usual behaviour of the app up to, and including the save button took place. By this I mean save and hold, or without hold and using the confirm box - which also behaved as normal. However, the TP1 line did not go green and the last saved did not become “Just Now”. So despite the “normal” behaviour to the point of using either “save” technique, it did not save.
Subsequently, clearing the data and the storage, resetting (soft and hard), clearing the log (note: No log was created for 1 April at any time, when it should have been), uninstalling the app, loading the app again from the Play Store, helped. Repeating any of these actions did not help. In fact, doing the last action resulted in the app loading defectively. Instead of getting the map of my project, I get a log download of the previous trapper? data, in a strange order labelled as 5 days ago, which may be true on the 2 April when this first happened, but is still labelled as 5 days ago today (6 April) and therefore is clearly NOT from 5 days ago. It is certainly nothing I have ever input, anytime, because it is not in an order I have ever done.
I cannot get rid of this data which appears it could be from an earlier log of a previous trapper or a random log. I have cleared my log. There is nothing there. If I go to Menu I have Logs (empty), a blank bar, My Projects (which list Pauatahanui Wildlife Reserve and gets inexplicable data as above instead of the map), Settings and About (which appear normal)

If you need to contact her to discuss, can I send her contact details to support@trap.nz?

Kia ora @jaybee Yes please send me through her details. The step of reinstalling the app only reinstalled the issue. I will need to find out why the hard reset hasn’t worked. support@trap.nz
