Hi
I am not usually on the forum so this may have been covered already.
My question is "why is there not an option for ‘replaced trap’? I am finding it difficult to collate data on what A24 traps have been replaced. When we replace a faulty trap I am taking a photo of the new serial number and writing the old serial number on the ‘notes’ section but it is not easily filtered when collating data.
I hope you can help.
Thanks
Jayne
@sjrayner You would usually retire the original trap and add the replacement as a new installation. Retired traps information can still be found in the Manage tab using the filter retired and any records continue to add to the project tally.
@sjrayner here’s an existing feature request to have two separate trap ‘name’ fields, one for the location and one for the hardware.
Change Trap number/code field to SITE number/code - Feature Requests - TRAP.NZ Forums
@lenore-admin one issue we’ve had with ‘retiring’ a trap when the new one will be on/near the same spot is that many of the map outputs on the website - including reports - do not ‘spider’ nicely when printed/screen-shotted at a whole-project scale. For instance, if I have a trap with 20 kills, retire it, and replace it just before I run my annual reports, the “0 kills” icon covers up the retired “20 kills” icon and produces a very distorted picture of the data. While heatmaps work well for some projects, you need quite a lot of catch data before they start looking pretty in AGM reports!
