When I start the app without my location turned on, the dialog comes up asking if I want to turn it on. I can’t choose either option from this. I have to close the app and reopen it.
I am able to use the app when I restart it. Either with location turned on or not. Same thing on 2 phones in our house.
Android. App version: 6.3.12 (496)
I am experiencing similar issues when trapping in an area with intermittent cell phone coverage (sometimes 4G, sometimes 3G, somtetimes none).
Generally this can be solved by allowing location access to “ALWAYS” under the TrapNZ APP settings on your phone before I go out to the trapping area, and reverting to the preferred setting (I choose NEVER) when returning home. A bit cumbersome, but hope this helps for you.
Yeah I’m sitting at home with my router 3 metres away and I’m having this happen. So it’s not a connection issue. It’s just something that’s been happening since the last release I think.
I find I can reproduce it if I:
- Close trap.nz.
- Lock my phone screen.
- Make sure location is off.
- Open trap.nz.
- The dialog opens up asking if you want to turn location on, nothing can be selected.
- I can then close and open trap.nz as many times as I want and it hangs each time at that dialog box.
- If I choose to turn on location in the dialog, the app hangs, but location is turned on, and next time I close then open the app, it runs.
Thanks @davidnblake36 , we will take a look.
@miekhans, @davidnblake36, can you please let us know what Android releases you have tried this on. Against Android 14 - using your script - I can’t replicate it.
Working on an iPhone 8 with ios16.7.10
It’s still occurring on my phone. It’s working on my boy’s Samsung. So it could be just my phone.
I guess just shelve unless others report this problem.
