Best Trail Camera – Which One Should I Buy? Need Your Advice

I researched the best trail camera to find the perfect option for pest control at night, property monitoring and outdoor security. After checking expert insights and user feedback, two models consistently stand out as top recommendations:

Bushnell Core DS No Glow Trail Camera

GardePro E6 Trail Camera
https://www.amazon.com/GardePro-Bluetooth-Activated-Waterproof-Wildlife/dp/B08VRDFSNL?th=1
The Bushnell Core DS offers excellent night performance with its dual sensor technology, delivering sharp images both during the day and in complete darkness. It features a no glow infrared flash, making it nearly invisible at night, which is ideal for pest control without alerting animals. It also has fast trigger speed, strong battery life and reliable durability for long term outdoor use. Dual sensors help maintain consistent image quality in both day and night conditions.

On the other hand, the GardePro E6 trail camera is known for its modern features like WiFi connectivity, allowing you to access footage directly from your phone. It also delivers clear night vision, a wider detection range and strong motion sensitivity, which can be useful for tracking smaller pests like rodents or raccoons. It’s often considered a more feature packed option for its price.

However, I am having trouble deciding which one would better suit my needs. I care about night image clarity, detection range, battery life, durability and how well it captures small pests in complete darkness. Easy setup and reliability are also important.

Has anyone tried either of these? Which one would you recommend? Any advice or personal experiences would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance

From my limited experience using a range of different priced and spec cameras it appears to me that finding a camera that does “everything” is a real challenge.

Some challenges are:

  • wide angle close detection for small pests like mice and rats in dense vegetation or near nest boxes vs larger animals in open space further away
  • shaded areas vs open spaces
  • windy vs shady areas
  • Card only vs Bluetooth vs Wifi vs 4G (onsite checking footage vs remote connection for live viewing and checking)

So to help people give you suggestions I would suggest you rank your priority features.

This has been discussed quite a bit on here. And there’s no 1 clear winner.

I have used Bushnell and really like them. I don’t know about the other brand you mention.

ZIP recommended Browning cameras. I have found them to be pieces of junk.

Almost all of them will only last about 2-3 years outside. The water eventually gets in them and they die.

There are the cacophony project DOC AI cams that AI identify what walks in front of it it is thermal based and wake up when they detect a heat signature.
They also record for animal sounds! They detect and ID most bird calls, wing beats and animal calls like possum, deer etc.
They send you a daily report via email, website or app.
Here is the link for them: Thermal Camera — The Cacophony Project
