Hi there, getting some trapping started here, and have had some success with blue smooth lure in the A24 and flipping Timmy traps. Usually put blaze around the area and blue smooth lure in and around traps and on the ground. The only issue is the blackbirds also love the blue smooth lure.
Anyone else had problems with blackbirds eating trap food? Or suggest some successful lure flavours the blackbirds won’t eat?
Hi this has been covered in other subjects on these forums, the last discussion was someone who started having Robins killed in traps once they started prefeeding outside the trap. This is something I have never been in favor of only logical if a bird finds something tasty outside a trap box it will go inside to get some more, what saves some birds are they are too light to set off some traps
