If you are an administrator for the project you’ll find a members tab on the projects home page. In there against each member is an edit button. Hit that button and change the users role as appropriate.
Hi Thanks for the response. In the members tab I am able to change roles within a project (eg administrator member to editor etc) but I am not able to shift the project manager role over to another user. This is what I would like to change if possible.
Cheers
I know this is an old thread, but for anyone else looking for the answer and searching the forums - I know that I did manage to do this as when my supervisor left and I became the project supervisor in late 2022. I was able to change myself to the project manager (I was logged in as Mike, previous project manager, and did it via his account).
All well and good, the problem is I actually can’t remember how I did that, and as I am leaving my role shortly, would like to do it again to hand over to someone else. I think practically speaking the ‘project manager’ isn’t actually able to do anything different than an ‘administrator’, and they are listed as ‘administrator’ in the members list. But it would be nice to have the right person be in that role - it does show up on the main front page with the list of projects, and I think perhaps they cannot be deleted by other ‘Administrators’?
Perhaps @andy.saunders or @lenore-admin could shed some light on how to actually do the change? I don’t think I had to have someone from the support team do it, but maybe I have just forgotten!!
@tui_kraal this document Managing member permis... | Trap.NZ Help & User guides outlines the roles and their permissions within the project.
It is always recommended that a project has at least two administrators to ensure its ability to continue if one leaves.
If you created a project, you are shown (on our side) as the author and until the author is changed (by us) you will be unable to leave the project.
If you are not the project author, you can leave the project from your landing page when you log into the website.
Members permissions can also be edited from the members tab in the project page of the website.
I hope this helps
Yup got all that, so the project author does need to be changed by you though? If so I’ll be in touch via email once I have the details of who is going to be in that position!
@tui_kraal yes, so let us know when and who and we will sort that for you. Contact me directly at support@trap.nz
