Circles to show radius from trap

Could there be a function that will show the radius from a trap. This would enable us to see at a glance if our trap line will be effective. With radius of 25m for mice, 50m for rats, 100m for mustelids and 200m for 5 minute bird counts. By showing the radius it would show where there are gaps in the network for trapping/monitoring certain species.

This is a GIS function that is easy to do. You would need to use Esri tools or QGIS on a desktop or an online web service.
If you add me to your project I could do it for you.

Thank you for your message, much appreciated.

However I am a computer Luddite and get anxious about playing around.

I was hoping the TrapNz wizards could develop an easy was to do this. I am involved with 3 trap projects and I know we are all interested in this idea.

Hi Dianne,

Yes, simple enough to add to trap.nz. As per @kimo’s answer, you can do this in QGIS for reporting purposed with exported data, but it would be a simple edition for trap.nz if it gets enough support.
