Data Plan Advice for DOC AI Thermal Camera

Hi All. Located in Western Bay of Plenty, our predator control group has two DOC AI Thermal cameras, and I am wanting to trial use of a SIM in one and just wondering if anyone has advice on best provider for data only (don’t think IoT plans will work, it needs 4G or 5G connectivity to send images, in bursts). Am a bit of a beginner with the cam so ‘for dummies’ approach would be appreciated. Thanks.

Currently looking into the same thing. I’m currently using the Spark Prepaid 1.5GB plan with Rollover data for $21 a month.

My 4G camera is currently using 800mb - 1GB of data per month.

Thanks, that’s useful, esp in terms of data use.

I reckon the big TelCos should offer free or discounted data plans to predator control groups and was thinking of making a pitch to their various philanthropic arms. OTOH, that’s usually lots of work for no gain.

I got a one.nz SIM (just because I use them anyway). I assume you needed to insert the SIM into a phone to activate? And then just take it out, is that what you did?

Yes had to do something similar for the spark one.
