Is there any other option than ‘retiring’ the trap then creating a ‘new’ trap when I get back?
Can you just spring it to make it safe while you are away?
Then set it again when you get back.
I don’t think there needs to be anything done on trap.nz while you are away.
I put fresh bait in mine while I am away as well - I reckon anything that takes the bait while the trap isn’t set will learn that trap boxes are a happy place containing food and will return again when it is set or find another trap elsewhere.
Thanks David. Springing the trap was already the plan, it was more keeping TrapNZ records accurate. I’ll likely retire it then start it as a new trap again.
