Yesterday I needed to quickly fix a data entry error I made in the app and opened the website using a phone rather than a computer. After many frustrating failed attempts to login, despite using correct login details, I discovered that the phone’s predictive text feature had been autofilling a space at the end of the username/email field. Once the extra space was removed, the login worked perfectly.
If anyone else’s login is inexplicably failing, check for this before doing any forgotten-password-reset steps!
Developers, I’m not sure whether this bug has been reported before or if it’s a new one - is it possible to have the login fields adjusted to ignore trailing spaces?
Good to know! Interestingly, in this instance I did manually enter the details each time, which is why I hadn’t expected there to be a space when I hadn’t typed one. Possibly it sneaked in while I was fighting off autocorrect’s repeated attempts to ‘fix’ my login details
I have this same problem every time I try to log in to the website through the mobile app to edit trap/station details. I know on many login forms for other websites/apps the autocorrect is automatically disabled, is this something trapnz could do @lenore-admin? It mustn’t be too hard as it is very common. Also there’s no option to save login details. Its really painful to login through the phone app, the embedded login window update added not so long ago isn’t an improvement.
