Maps used to identify a line or installation before editing

It seems that when wanting to edit a line or installation, in general, TRAP.NZ requires the user to go the the project map, zoom in to identify & select the line/installation, then select “Edit”, whereupon the map pulls right back again to the whole project map. The user then has to repeat the task they’ve already done, ie zoom all the way back in, so they can perform whatever edit they want to do.

Is it possible to keep the map in the same position, & let the user move from there? I suspect most of our screens are smaller than the developers’, it’s lost of clicking and zoom for no/little purpose.

And when the edit is complete, to hold the system there again rather than pull out, so a nearby line/installation is easy to access & edit?
Thanks,
jo
