For trapping groups where checks are not made by the same person each time, it would be good if there was a report available to all member levels that shows the most recent visit record for selected areas, with optional filters for installation type, line, etc.
At the moment, if you filter by date of the last visit, this won’t return missed traps, traps that have been broken/missing for several visits and are awaiting replacement, etc. It would be nice if our trappers could quickly view a single page showing the entire last-visit record for all selected installations. Then it would be immediately obvious if there are follow-ups needed, like a maintenance status, a note about “check this next visit”, or one visit date that doesn’t match the others.
In addition to a report, is there a way to show on a map all traps within a project that have not been visited for x days (where x could be user defined or set options of 14, 21 or 30 etc)?
@merrin you could try the Trap date last checked | Trap.NZ report. It shows the map of the project with colours but also how many days since the installation has had records added to it/ visited.
@cragrat the app has been designed as a collection tool not for storing data and reporting with. You can see any data collected in the last month by accessing your app logs, however, for full reporting you need to access the trap.nz website.
If you want a customised report or map you need to create this yourself in another program. This sort of customised view of the data is easy to create in a GIS and QGIS is a free option. You can access all the records in TrapNZ using WFS and then set up a filter. I do this for the traps I have access to. TrapNZ provide easy access to all your records. If you are not prepared to become a GIS analyst you can export the records as a CSV and use Excel.
