Does anyone out there have any experience with making the wooden tunnels used for Victor and similar rat traps “parrot-proof”? We have an issue with what we suspect are Kaka removing the galv mesh doors by pulling them in the middle so they flex and pop out of the slots on the sides, regardless of whether they are retained at the top or not.

how about reinforcing the meshing with a thicker bit of metal or anything really. for instance you could cut metal clothes hangers with a pair of pliers and use the metal to create a grill/prison bars to keep the mesh from being pulled out in front of it.
Try using hook-screws to keep the mesh down and all you have to do is turn it on top and bottom to open it.
