Has anyone had dog interference issues when using SA Cat traps? We are using them in an area where pig dogs are needed for pig control.
Hi Alec, I only have 10 of these traps but they are set where I also have pig hunters. No issues that I know of over the 5 years they have been out. My own dog gives them a good sniff but leaves them alone. Cheers, Pat
We have a few dozen SA cat traps, but also many kiwi, so our SA cat traps are mounted on fence palings (~200mm x 25mm, treated, 1.8m long, just standard Mitre10 fence palings) at the top end of the paling. The paling is fixed to a tree at a little less than 45 degrees, so the trap ends up at a nice height to service, kiwi can’t access it, cats, stoats, ferrets have no problem with access, and dogs might get close enough to sniff but they can’t get a paw inside.
