One of our Timms traps is springing as soon as it is set. Any explanation or advice would be great. Thanks.
@ridgewood_reservist If it’s setting, but then going off with the slightest bump, it might be the sensitivity that is set too high and needs adjusting.
Thanks for the tip. I’ve found another post which mentions bending the rod, forwards to increase sensitivity, so I’ll try the reverse.
I don’t know about bending the bait bar but the bar at the top of the trap has a molded black plastic nob that slides across the rod. it has too steps in it that holds the bait bar further towards the trap mouth making more sensitive to firing. The second step is less sensitive, and leaving the bait bar against the rod is the least sensitive. There’s probably utubes for this too.
