Geographically the Ukraine is a very long way from Aotearoa, but in software terms we are often virtually in the same room. One of the many open source libraries we use in Trap.nz is Leaflet - an amazing mapping tool written by a developer in Kyiv and gifted to the open source world.
Over the last few weeks, while we’ve continued logging possums, Volodymyr and his family became refugees. It is mind blowing to think that both parties in this war - and the outside observers - all use his mapping tools to plan and report on this crazy war.
