Where to place PB lure in DOC150

I have been setting my DOC150 traps with either Mayo or PB directly on the treadle plate. I haven’t caught anything in a while and am trying a few things to see if I can pick the numbers back up.
I don’t think this is my primary issue, but still curious - when using mayo or pb in a single trap box setup, where is the best place to lay the lure?

I have seen people using bottle tops in the lure area to contain pb or mayo. Otherwise its more of a hassle to clear up.

Try using luregards tied into the bait area - or we do as above with the bottle caps in the bait area.

Also, put a bit by the entrance way - reward them for coming in the front door

We’ve used (washed) milk bottle caps, since our local recycling won’t take them any more. Then the mouldy caps can be thrown out and replaced with fresh, no clean-up hassles - also easy to add or remove with long tongs if you don’t want to have to unset/reset your traps.

The one thing to watch out for is that milk bottle lids may blow out of traps set in exposed windy areas!

Someone else on the forum said they use egg carton segments, which are biodegradable. I haven’t tried it myself yet, but it’s on the to-do list.
