I just discovered that when I add a catch to an A24 trap the app has been overwriting the lure condition data I’ve entered in the arrival status field with “sprung” (after first hiding the field so I didn’t see the change). It makes sense to do this for a single-kill trap, but the only time I would use a “sprung” status on an A24 is if the gas canister has gone flat or something. Otherwise, I want the arrival status to accurately reflect that the trap is “still set” i.e. still able to catch more pests, and I want to know what the lure was like so I can analyse the data and feed it back into planning (e.g. check interval, long-lasting lures vs fresh lures, etc.). If I have to enter all that into notes instead of using the dropdown, it will be slow and also I won’t be able to use the standard filters on the dataset.
Is there any way to modify the A24 form on the app so that it doesn’t overwrite my arrival status data? If it wants to default to “sprung” if I’ve left the field blank, fine, but I’m a bit frustrated that data I actually entered has been changed in the background and is now lost.
